Facilities and Learning for Today and Tomorrow is the second step in the development of the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District Strategic Facilities Plan.
This phase – consisting of a public consultation with stakeholders, educators, the community and the two municipalities – is informed by the data we gathered in the first step of the process. This data is captured in our Strategic Facilities Review document.
Where are we now in the community engagement process?
Meetings with the City of Maple Ridge and the City of Pitt Meadows occurred on April 1, 2015. A workshop with Board of Education Advisory Committees and Education Partner Groups took place on April 13, 2015.
The feedback we collected in this early part of the consultation process has helped us develop the Facilities and Learning for Today and Tomorrow online survey, which was open from May 11, 2015 to May 25, 2015 (4 pm).
We used the information we collected through our online survey to create facilities planning options, which we presented at a June 10, 2015 public Open House. [Read about how our June 10, 2015 Open House went.]
We prepared a second online survey to give those who were unable to attend our Open House an opportunity to review and offer feedback on the facilities planning options prepared. The survey was open from June 15 to June 29, 2015. [Review our Public Consultation Summary document.]
What’s next?
The information collected through both the Strategic Facilities Review and the Facilities and Learning for Today and Tomorrow public consultation initiative informed the school district’s Draft Strategic Facilities Plan, September 2015.
We presented the draft recommendations at a September 30, 2015 public Open House.
We prepared a third online survey to give those who were unable to attend our second public Open House an opportunity to review and offer feedback on the draft recommendations. This survey remained open from September 24, 2015 to October 8, 2015. October 2015.
The Board adopted the Strategic Facilities Plan at its regular public meeting on October 14, 2015.
